Wind

The delicate leaves rustle gently
As the cold Autumn breeze blows
The path lays lonely and untraveled
And a single, lamp in the distance glows

The mist blinds the traveller, alone
As the darkness sweeps over the land
And footsteps echo on the grey stone
As a gentle presence tugs your hand

The wind gives off a comfort to you
But the coldness welcomes in dread
You realize that all your life through
Your life may be hanging by the thread

So travelling through land, all alone
Midnight has settled, and a star glows
As you count every step towards home
Far in the distance the wind blows
