I Understand


If dreams are memories
And memories are dreams 
Then where is the reality that i seek
From what it seems
It's as if I understand nothing
And one who understands nothing knows nothing at all

These dreams are fading 
And so are my memories
I keep trying to line the pieces up
But as I reach for them they fade away
Once again I understand nothing
And one who understands nothing knows nothing at all

My dreams are now hazy
And so are my memories
I try to remember what I've done
But it's all just a blur 
Again I understand nothing
And one who understands nothing knows nothing at all

These dreams are coming to an end 
And so are my memories
The light is fading
And the darkness is beginning smothering me
I understand nothing
And one who understands nothing knows nothing at all

My dreams have finally ended
And my memories have all but faded
I finally understand what i couldn't see 
These memories and dreams were never really meant for me 
I finally understand that these dreams and memories are not whats fading away
But I am whats fading into this dark abyss 
To understand that you never truly exist 
To realize your just a fading dream and memory
Knowing everything you knew will be gone soon 
I understand
And one who understands everything knows everything there is......
