Silence

My soul it dwells in lies untold
A glimpse of better worlds unfold
And for a moment I do believe
That life has a lot more to give

It captivates my shattered mind
In hope that someday I will find
A paradise or place to lie
So I may close my eyes and die

I take the blade and hold it tight
I wait till dusk fades into night
I close my eyes; hurt settles again
But each deep cut eases my pain

I dwell in lies; tales untold
I seek a dark place with some hope
That someday I'll be fine again
And I won't have to bear this pain

But soon after the feelings fade
And I become once more afraid
It happens that I open my eyes
I die inside and bleed dead lies

But life is harsh, I want to die
I'll take some pills, then tell a lie
And hope that truth won't seep right through
Arcadia, just know I died for you
