The Wishing Star

I close my eyes and wish to the star
Hold my hands and hope it goes far
My mind is gone
My heart is here
And I wish upon the star

The wind will take it far away
To the time and place of the wishing day
Reality is gone
Fantasy draws near
And I wish the wish can stay someday

It lands at the foot of my true love
Calling him close, just like a dove
His words are gone
His curiosity is there
And he takes the wish with love

Ten years have gone by
Our meeting draws nigh
Our hearts will be joined
Our troubles will be forgotten
And together we’ll smile at the starry night sky.
