There was a boy and a girl. The boy's name was Khai. The girl's name was Violet. Khai and Violet hated each other. Whenever he saw her, he would make fun of her. She would always say something mean back. The problem was, they same quite a lot of each other, for they were the smartest people in school

Everybody thought they would make the perfect nerd couple.

Violet refused to give in to pier pressure. No one really knew her. Her family was poor, and she was suffering from depression. All she had was school. Khai would never understand her.

Khai wouldn't let the general public get to him. Nobody understood him. His mother was a drunk ,and he was diagnosed with anxiety. All he had was school. Violet would never get it.

Months went by. It was torture for both of them. They wondered if the other had any idea what they were going through, or if they would care if they did.

In the auditorium, at the school spelling bee, Khai decided to pick a fight. "Hey loser." He started. Violet looked up. "Oh hey! Ready to be crushed in the spelling bee you retard?" Khai laughed. "That was the worst comeback I have ever heard. I guess I didn't expect much more, though. Your brain's about the size of a pebble".

This feeble barter hurt them both more than intended, and they both lost the spelling bee.

One day, on the school trip to Washington D.C., on the bus to the White House, a bomb meant for the president went off. Khai and Violet were blown from the crash, landing far from each other. Violet died instantly, and Khai was close to death. Someone ran over to Khai, and found him still conscious. "My pocket" he whispered, and closed his eyes. In his pocket was a note. it said:

"Dear Violet,
I want you to know that I always have, and will, love you. I was mean to you because I was afraid you woudn't understand me. You are perfect, and don't let anyone, including me, put you down. I hope you will forgive me. You are the smartest and prettiest girl I know.
-Khai"

Meanwhile, someone got out of their car and sprinted over to Violet, only to find her beyond help. There was a piece of paper hanging out of her shoe. It read:

"Khai,
You are the love of my life. I was too shy and proud to admit it. Maybe you love me back, maybe you don't. But I will remember you until the day I die"
