LOSS 1

this story is about the losses i've been through and i'm only just turned 13
here we go;
i knew a little boy named Matthew. he was in grade prep and i was in grade 5 so he was my 'little buddy'.
he was a bit of a trouble maker so to stop him mucking up in class my mum suggested i give him treats so he would be good (like chocolates and toys).
he agreed to this and he behaved. to be honest most of the time we had fun together, he was a typical little boy, funny and cute.
anyway i only had him as a buddy for 1 term but before the term ended i gave him a little silver car key chain and he liked it so much he came back the next day and gave me 2 of his mum's necklaces she want anymore. i was touched. 1 of them was black and gold- fairly pretty -and the other was so beautiful. it was a gold chain which had a gold oval type thing on the end of it with pretty patterns and little gems in it. it was so beautiful and i took it home but didn't wear it often.
and then last year, when he was in grade 1 and i was in grade 6, i came to school one morning and my friends told me that Matthew had been hit by a car on the weekend. He died. at first it didn't hit me, but then as we were going inside to class this kid Jonothan (who happened to be Matthews buddy) yelled out
"Matthew got hit by a car!!!" and he was sniggering as if it was some kind of joke!!
the teacher had a go at him but at lunch i went up to him and said
"HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT, YOU STUPID BASTARD!!! HE WAS YOUR BUDDY AND NOW HE'S GONE AND YOU DON'T EVEN CARE!!!!"
He was a little lost for words when i said that but i just walked off.
the stories not over though.
the pretty gold necklace: i almost lost at netball. but luckily some beautiful person gave it in & i got it back. but if was broken. 1 of the flowers came off.
then the bastards at school tried to get me to take it off, threatening to give me detention, but i didn't.
i wore it every day and didn't take it off, because i was so sad.
eventually another gem fell off and then this year it came apart all together. the oval separated from the chain. and now i feel like I'm losing him. bit by bit he's fading, and i feel like a horrible person.
i can only hope it doesn't fade anymore.
thank you for listening and i would tell you about other losses I've had but it's late and i have to go, but look out for another "Louisa" story for more sad losses
