Tears Aren't Enough

Belle

Do you ever fear that you are going to lose someone close to you? Do you ever think that you might not see someone ever again? Well, I didn't. It was the summer after sixth grade. My hometown had just opened a new swimming pool and everyone loved it. Now, I can’t go there anymore without seeing her sleeping on one of the chairs, or dipping her feet in the water. The her I’m talking about was my best friend Erin. We had started hanging out at the beginning of the sixth grade when we were put in a group for a school thing together. After that, we were inseparable. We were always at each other's houses, or going to the pool when it was warm enough. And about half way through summer vacation she stayed a full week at my house. Nothing seemed wrong. A few days after she... [Read More]

Love lingers Two years later

Nancy

03 Mar, 2013 11:37 AM

It was a cold rainy night.. I met up with him the day after our huge argument. I parked outside his house as I usually did every night and as I opened my door he was already standing outside waiting for me. as soon as i opened the door he grabbed my hand and led me inside his room. We locked eyes and we both knew what was going to happen that very moment. He began to explain how disappointed he was in me and he's had enough. i was wrong, I knew I was. I pathetically began to weep and beg for forgiveness. He held my hand and told me it was best we were friends and as he's eyes got watery... He walked to the opposite side of the room and had his head in his hands and said, "I care about you so much.. Why is this... [Read More]

I'm An Idiot

Meghan

I was in 6th grade and I thought that I could do this. You know, go out with an older guy. I was in 6th grade while he was in 9th. I was 12 while he was 16. I wish I had never even met him. But I'm getting ahead of myself, let's jump back about 3 months ago (which is in March). One day in march, the 9th grader, let's call him James, was sitting with me at a table at church. there were other people but I didn't pay much attention to them. I had known James for about 3 months and I started to get a little crush on him. I know, crazy right? I must have blanked out for a little bit because one moment we are talking about the food and next minute we are talking about phones and phone numbers. He asked me if... [Read More]

The One True Person

alicia

28 Feb, 2013 07:28 PM

We can all say we have had one true person in our life. The one that listens, cares, and loves us. Mine was my grandpa, He was always there for me. When I was younger and I felt like no one cared, he always did. He never told me his heart was failing and he was in pain most of the time. Never told me, never showed it, never complained. He was always happy and tried his best to get me everything I wanted and to make me happy. I could tell him anything and everything he never judged me. I always thought he would be there and I never thought he would pass away. The day my parents told me he died I felt like my heart shattered. I burst into tears and couldn't stop crying I put my head in my knees and cried on my parents floor I... [Read More]

I had a brother he was in a gang but decided to change. He never went back to the gang so they were looking for him to kill him. He found out about this and our whole family moved including me. After our 3 months of living in the new house we got used to it and all of us made new friends. So I woke up one day and I noticed that I didn't have my 5 dollars on the counter no more and I asked my brother and he said that he had gotten it and bought a soda and chips with that money when he was going going to the club last night . But said he would pay me back as soon as possible . I didn't agree because he went in my room and got it and I told him to not ever go in... [Read More]

Nose Candy's Sweetest Demise

Nikki Necronomicon

At the age of 12, I remember when it all started. I believe it was some time in September when a long time friend of my sister, payed a visit. I didn't really mind him coming over, for I didn't pay much attention to him and my sister's actions. As the night progressed, I noticed they took frequent trips to the bathroom and repetitively kept rubbing their noses. I approached my sister's friend, Carlos, and asked about the situation. He just laughed, and I asked if they were doing cocaine. He replied; "Yeah, do you wanna try some?" At first, I was hesitant. Growing up, I was taught that drugs were bad, so I didn't want any part in it. Later, my curiosity got the best of me and I agreed to do a line. He set it up in the bathroom, and handed me a dollar bill as he... [Read More]

My Amnesia Girl

seeker

25 Feb, 2013 06:05 AM

This was a true story of mine. It started when I was in first year college when I met my first love. It was our Intramural at school. We were both badminton players so that’s how we became close.. texting each other every day even after the Intramural we still talk. One night she was sad and texted me that she misses Jay. I asked her who he was he and told me that Jay was her boyfriend for 1 year. It was their first anniversary when unfortunately; he died with the car accident. And only her mother survived who was seated on the passenger’s seat. That night I wanted to hug and comfort her, instead, I made a joke and told her.. ”Don’t worry, he is just there looking at you..awoooooh..haha” trying to make a wolf sound. It’s good that she smiled on her reply. Days passed until I... [Read More]

kylie

I am 16 years old and I have a boyfriend of the same age. We love each other like crazy and we know that nothing can do us apart ,nothing!...we did the craziest stuff together...enjoyed each and every moment of my life with him. I had to leave and go to a different country to study so I had to leave him behind. But we still dated and called each other. It was hard for both of us although we knew that we loved each other crazily so nothing to worry. But as time went on, he felt the distance and the loneliness, it started to change him. He stopped sharing a lot with me but I kept telling him that everything will be alright. No matter the case, he still loved me so much. But there was this fear in me that one day I will have to let him... [Read More]

The Friend Whom You Trusted

MeiMei

23 Feb, 2013 03:51 AM

It all started on Tuesday, February 19. I was going home on the trolley with my friend, Linh. We were talking about anything we could think of. But then, we got on the topic of her best friend. She told me that her best friend was the only person she truly trusted. He was everything to Linh. He was always there for Linh and he was the one who would do anything for her. But something collapsed in Linh's eyes. "He wants to suicide." Those words struck me and tears came into my eyes. "Why?" I asked as I stared at Linh, worried what she would say. "He's being cyber bullied...because he is gay." Linh said looking down at her phone. I stared at Linh and got angry. I don't see why people are so judgmental. Why cant they just accept people as they are? Why cant they shut up... [Read More]

I Love You

Prateek Giri

A story on saving relationships.. Learn from this.. “When I got home that night as my wife served dinner, I held her hand and said, I’ve got something to tell you. She sat down and ate quietly. Again I observed the hurt in her eyes. Suddenly I didn’t know how to open my mouth. But I had to let her know what I was thinking. I want a divorce. I raised the topic calmly. She didn’t seem to be annoyed by my words, instead she asked me softly, why? I avoided her question. This made her angry. She threw away the chopsticks and shouted at me, you are not a man! That night, we didn’t talk to each other. She was weeping. I knew she wanted to find out what had happened to our marriage. But I could hardly give her a satisfactory answer; she had lost my heart to... [Read More]
