That night he was here, that man who knew and understood me and yeah – loved me for who exactly I am ..Holding me tight , afraid that there was someone out in the dark waiting to take me away from him .. his lips were steady as he said "baby .. no matter what, I am always there for you , you know that?" "uh-uh" I replied confused. "And do you know that I have loved you so much more than what you’d ever imagined love is, and that it can neither be measured nor weighed?" "yes – I do know" I looked into his eyes, his eyes never leaving mine .. I knew there was something he wanted me know .. just my ears he did not want it to travel from my nerves to brain and ask him cross-questions .. I wanted to say him it was... [Read More]

Abused Memories

Lilith

When I was 3 years old my mom and dad divorced over letters. He was in Iraq in the army, so I barely knew him. A year later my mom gets a new boyfriend, yay for her bad for me. He hated me so much I still don't know why, but anyway he abused me. I'm not talking about once a week slap across the face. I'm talking throwing hammers at you while you hide, kicking you over and over, and nailing your fingers to a wall. My mom never knew this, my dad came back when I was 5 and I had weekly visits on the weekends. When I would get into trouble at his house he would yell a little and tell me not to do it again, I flinched the second he yelled...I was skittish like a stray cat. He went to court and my mother was... [Read More]

PROLOGUE: I don’t have tears anymore. I want to cry, wail out loudly, but I can’t. I just don’t have the strength to do it. I feel numb...alone...cold. I guess I have to go, I've said my goodbyes. And may God forgive my soul. I climbed on to my car, turned the engine on. I looked around, it’s so peaceful and quiet here, I could stay here forever. Hah! I still got a sense of humor. Well, this is Sky lawn, where my mother and my stepfather lie. I came to visit them, brought flowers, lit up a candle, said a prayer...and ask for forgiveness. I will see you soon, mother. I will be with you, Dad. Blasted radio, why this song? Should I turn the volume up? Alex Clare’s lyrics says it all... “...just too close to love you...” OK, time to go, it’s gonna be dark soon. Oh... [Read More]

I Miss You Buddy

It's hard being a half American kid going to school in a foreign country. Everyone thinks you have money and you're immediately an outcast. No matter what you do to try and fit in, you're still going to be the American kid. Sure, you can still get everyone to like you but you never really know who's your real friend. Even my mother's side of the family, who are all Asians by the way, think of me as an outcast. Everyone depends on me to be a doctor, or a lawyer, or an astrophysicist just so they can suck the money out of me. My father left, and my mother married another man, who not long, grew in my heart. My step-father enrolled me into one of the best schools in the country and that's when I finally met my best friend. I was in kindergarten when he sat by... [Read More]

My mothers young love.

Hey everyone! I decided to share this story because I believe it may help some people that are unhappy with their family. So this is a story my mother told me when I was so upset over a guy that was a total jerk. It is a sad story but it made me thankful for what I had in life, and no matter what happens my mother is always going to be here for me, I'm so thankful to have a mother when others aren't so lucky. When my mother was my age, 15 she was dating this guy named Dale. She said how they were inseparable and still has a necklace that he got her for her birthday. One day Dale was going to go for a ride on his Dirt Bike and asked if my mom wanted to go with. She asked her grandmother if she could go... [Read More]

A Sickening Breakup

Nathan Vince Cruz

30 Aug, 2012 07:20 AM

Weeks of planning sum up to this one moment where I am forced to break her heart. She invites me over her house because she insists that she cook for me, as a few days prior to that night it was I who cooked for her. I just entered her house and can smell the alluring array of pasta and veil, which she knows to be my favorite. Prior to this moment she insisted that I come have a seat and assures me she has not burned the veil as I love teasing her about overcooking. I know I cannot proceed any farther, and regretting not enjoying a memorable evening with the one I love the most, I deny further entrance and she questions why in her playful endearing voice. I look into her loving eyes knowing exactly what has to be done. “I can’t stay” I said dreading my... [Read More]

Aiden My Angel

Autumn

18 Jul, 2012 12:43 AM

This story is not based on fiction or fantasy, but a story of true and beautiful love. A love that was full of life and color, that was never dull or quiet. A love that was truly one of a kind. We had a beautiful beginning and a wonderful middle sadly however we never got our happily ever after... Aiden and I first met in our Freshmen year of High school in our English class, lets say it wasn't exactly love at first sight. In fact we practically hated one another, we were constantly at each others throats and we were both too stubborn and hot headed to get past this strange wall of anger that had been built between us. Towards the middle of Freshmen year we had finally reached talking terms, and by the end of it we were hanging out everyday at lunch and almost every other... [Read More]

Whatever, Right?

If you listen to me speak, you'll never hear me say 'my home'. You won't hear me say that. You'll always hear me say my house. Home is where you feel most comfortable. House is where you live. I feel most comfortable in my tae-kwon-do studio, so I call that my home. My house, I get screamed, yelled at. All the blame is pushed upon me. It's always my fault. No one cares when I break down. I've learned to control that. I've learned to fake a smile, pretend I'm happy. Everywhere. then at night I sob about my depression into my stuffed pikachu. Sad? Yeah, it's pitiful, especially for a girl who acts so strong, like nothing fazes me. I feel sad and angry and depressed. But no, I can't tell my parents. They'll shrug it off, or yell at me for being too sensitive. yes, my parents. Mother... [Read More]

Sister Separation

Kristin

28 Jun, 2012 09:54 PM

In about 2009, just a few days before school got out for the summer, a tragic death happened to a 12 year old girl. There were two twin sisters, (I don't know their names.) They were super close, or maybe even best friends. School had just ended for the day. One of the sisters were on the bus, but the other was still getting stuff out of her locker, then she was finished and got up and ran to try and catch up. But the bus was already gone. So she called her sister, No answer. So she tried calling her parents to pick her up. They were at work in Chicago, so couldn't. So she chased after the bus, but as she was running she tripped. She couldn't move her leg, and the bus was coming and ran her over. She was quickly rushed to the hospital, but at... [Read More]
