The Last Words Angel Fawn *I adapted this to fit more with my story, respects all paid to Angel Fawn!!!* It's been a while since I remembered him. My brother Chris was 16, he had lung cancer. He was growing weaker and weaker, he coughed and coughed and breathing was becoming hard for him. Very hard... He couldn’t stop coughing, (*cough, cough, cough*) the sweet sound of his voice swept out of his pain filled body, letting me hope. Hope that he’d live. The doctor’s had told us that he had months to live. I remember back when we were just kids. Mom took us out to the dandelion field behind our park and some kids were playing tag through the meadow. The light blowing through the air flew directly into our hearts. “Hey ugly,” one kid yelled. I looked up. “Yeah you ugly! You and your cripple brother!” Another... [Read More]

Tears Aren't Enough

Belle

Do you ever fear that you are going to lose someone close to you? Do you ever think that you might not see someone ever again? Well, I didn't. It was the summer after sixth grade. My hometown had just opened a new swimming pool and everyone loved it. Now, I can’t go there anymore without seeing her sleeping on one of the chairs, or dipping her feet in the water. The her I’m talking about was my best friend Erin. We had started hanging out at the beginning of the sixth grade when we were put in a group for a school thing together. After that, we were inseparable. We were always at each other's houses, or going to the pool when it was warm enough. And about half way through summer vacation she stayed a full week at my house. Nothing seemed wrong. A few days after she... [Read More]

True But Sad Love

Ajern99

It had been raining for more than a week, so much rain it made everyday seemed so restless and gloomy. She called and said she was coming up. It was the third time she came up to see me that week. I carried her excuse of why she came all the way here and went to meet her at the nearby seven-eleven. She was standing there alone, carrying her red umbrella. Her friend had dropped her off. It was raining and she was shivering. She looked weak and fragile in the harsh rain, wearing not enough to keep her warm. She said, "I miss you." I told her coldly, "Lets go, I'll take you home." She did not open up her umbrella, I knew she wanted to share mine. I said, "Open up your umbrella, let's go." Unwillingly, She opened up her umbrella and walked with me to the car.... [Read More]

Anne

"--so perfect! The kiss accompanied by the fireworks, it was so beautiful and--" "I know, now can you please shut up? Someone's trying to study here," "Fine. I'm going out, do you need anything?" "No," Anne sighed as soon as her roommate left their room. Then suddenly, she broke, tears were streaming down her face and she couldn't stop them. "Why? Why?" She was there that night. She was there when they sealed their fates with a kiss. Normally, she wouldn't believe superstitious such as 'the person you shared a kiss with during THAT night will be the person you'll spend eternity with' but that happened to her parents and her other relatives. It was childish to say 'she was supposed to be the one holding hands with Zeke, she should have been the one who shared that kiss with Zeke' she should have been Zeke's best friend, scratch that,... The last words with my brother

DarknessAngel

It's been a while since I've experienced this. This happened in 2007, when I was Ten. My brother Chris was 18 at the time, and had lung cancer. He was growing weaker and weaker, he was coughing so much, and breathing was becoming hard for him. Very hard. On December 23rd 2007, 2 days before Christmas, I visited him in the Hospital. He was in the hospital because doctors expected him to pass very soon, and they didn't want him at home to die. Me and him acted very friendly towards each other. He acted like he had no cancer, and he was at home again. He laughed, he coughed, but suddenly he began to cry. He looked me right in the eye, and told me these words, the words that still haunt and make me cry to this day: "Rachel, I need you to know some things. No matter... [Read More]

My Forbidden Love

Catherine G

19 Nov, 2012 02:39 AM

When I was fourteen, I fell in love. It wasn't like any other teen love. It was real. As if everything in the world didn't matter but him and he made sure I knew he thought the same. The only difference was, we weren't allowed to see each other. He (Nolan) was grounded because of some reason I still don't know and his parents forbade him from any and all relations with any and all girls. But, obviously, he didn't care. We met at a marching band competition. I was surprised that we had been in the same band for so long and hadn't noticed each other until then. It was definitely that cliche love at first sight. He was joking around with his friends and they were pretending that they were drunk (immature, I know) and he kept going long after his friends stopped. It was then he started... [Read More]

Abandoned

My story starts online in March. No it is not the smartest way to meet someone but I didn't mean for it to happen. I met him and from the start we were both hooked. He lived across the country from me. But he moved to the state I was in. I only saw him once in the four months that he was there due to the fact that his multiple jobs were so demanding. The beginning of July he moved back because his cancer was back and his doctors were back home. I started to plan to move to be with him because of how in love we were and we were planning to spend our lives together. Well we decided that I should fly over for a week and look at apartments, jobs, etc. I left in the middle of July on a Saturday. I got there Saturday... [Read More]

heaven and Earth

Who knew a school hallway could change your life, for better or worse...I remember the day I saw him. Bright blonde dyed hair and brown eyes that told a thousand stories with one glimpse of the eye. He could capture any soul. He wasn't super smart nor was he stupid, but one thing he did was never give up hope without a smile. His smile shinned like the heavens shinned over earth. His smile was the light to my day, without light how can you see where you are heading? Up? Down? Wandering in the darkness is what he did to me once he left. Senior year in high school my best friend and I were going to see if the guy she liked would give her his number. That was the day I met him. Strumming his guitar in the far corner of the classroom, acting as if he... [Read More]

I never got to say it

Jake Correa

This is my first time on this site and after reading some of the sad experiences, it felt right to share mine. I'm currently 22 years and the 10 years passed without a day that I didn't think about my grandfather, Lorenzo. he died on Sept.9, 2011. I live in my mother's house and since she works abroad, my grandparents are the ones who are taking care of me. But ever since I was in pre-school, it was my grandfather who always brought and fetched me from school. My grandfather was a man of a few words and he never showed his love for his children or their kids. "Cari?o Brutal" as we call it or tough love. But he was a caring man but he showed it in his own way. On March 21, 1999. We just moved in to our new house and everyone was excited but granddad... [Read More]

No biggie (kinda long)

Madeline

Once upon a time a man and a woman fell in love, got married, and had a kid. When she was three they divorced. This wasn't a big deal for her because it meant no more fighting and she still got to see them both. Time passed and the girl's dad remarried. A couple of years later they had a little girl with Down Syndrome. This wasn't a big deal because she wasn't a very serious case. Then her mom remarried and they had a little boy who was an absolute terror and was often left for the girl to take care of because her mom worked late and her step father was always away or being a terrible couch potato father. This too was okay. They moved away from her childhood home and switched schools leaving close friends she had had for six years. It was alright, she made... [Read More]
